Nigeria Takes Leadership of African Conformity Assessment Programme

MOMBASA, KENYA — Nigeria has assumed a key leadership role in Africa’s conformity assessment framework with the election of Mrs. Nwabugwu Chidinma Ewuzie , representing the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) , as Chairperson of the African Conformity Assessment Programme (ACAP) Advisory Committee for a three-year term. Mrs. Ewuzie emerged as Chairperson during the inauguration of the ACAP Advisory Committee on Friday, 28 August 2026, held on the sidelines of the 32nd General Assembly of the African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO) in Mombasa, Kenya. Her election places Nigeria at the forefront of efforts to strengthen conformity assessment systems, promote harmonised standards and support the competitiveness of African products and services in international markets.
