The 2022 World Tourism Day celebration ends with a bang as Lagos State Governor, NIHOTOUR DG and Mama WEBISCO bags the Tourism Brand Icon Award


The event was fully parked with tourism practitioners and investors who came from different parts of the country to enjoy experience the private sector of celebrating theglobal event. 
The first session of the celebration took place at prestigious Tarkwa Bay where, the President of FTAN, Mr. Nkereuwem Onung, called on government to fund the tourism sector and create a policy that will make the industry thrive. 
The locals of the Bay abandon their businesses and joined in the celebration. To them, FTAN did not only open the bay for new businesses but has also showed them a new way of celebrating and appreciating tourism.

In the goodwills, the government officials from LASWA, NIWA, Lagos State Tourism, Lagferry, LCCI, Nigeria Navy, thanked FTAN leadership, led by Mr. Nkereuwem Onung; the game changer, for organizing the event and promised to continually support and be part of subsequent editions.
The coastline of Lagos State was covered with array of Luxurious Cruisers, flying boats and speed boats, as tourists were ferried from the Tarzan Jetty down to Tarwa Bay where they were hosted by the American tourism investor in Nigeria, Mr. David Ross.

The evening Awards which took in Eko hotels and Suites, had in attendance, dignitaries, who could not make it to the Bay. 
The board of trustee Chairman, Chief Samuel Alabi, who is a key supporter of Tourism, advised Government to improve on good policies, security and infrastructural as that is the way forward for the development of the tourism industry. 

The awardees thanked FTAN for the Honour and promised to do more in value to the industry in the various areas they have cover.
