Edo State calls on Tourism Stakeholders to harness the rich tourism potentials in the State.

" Edo State Government will not impose any difficult guidelines on Hoteliers in the State." The Commissioner for Arts, Culture, and Tourism, Hon. Prince Bamidele Obaitan, disclosed this at the ministry’s conference hall on Tuesday 31st January 2023, at a one-day engagement for stakeholders in the tourism sector.
The Commissioner stated that the government is putting machinery in place, to cut down the inflation rate so that the tourism enterprises in the State can thrive and generate revenue, increase employment, and efficient delivery their services.
Prince Obaitan, further stated that there shall be periodic visitation and assessment of tourism establishments, sites, and locations across the Three Senatorial District in Edo state, as this has been included in the 2023 strategic plan for the tourism sector. He, therefore, advised tourism establishment owners on the need to put in place adequate security, health, and safety paraphernalia in their premises.
Prince Bamidele told the stakeholders that the new Tourism Master Plan will be made available to the public for implementation purposes.
He commended Governor Godwin Obaseki, for his developmental foresight and his plan in ensuring that the Edo State Tourism sector gains global recognition.
Some Stakeholders present at the meeting, were the Chairman of the Hoteliers Association in Edo State, Mr. Roland N. Osunde, Managing Director, of Ogba Zoological Gardens, Andy Ehanire, Managing Director of Amena Academy, Mr. Eghosa Eghobamien, Managing Director, Samsy Hotels Esther Aderigbigbe, Manager, Home and Away Eatery, Representative of Elysium Event Center and Zafike Hotels.
In a vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Iryn Omorogiuwa Esq. appreciated the participants and assured them that the Ministry will run an open door policy where stakeholders in the sector will be periodically engaged for the positive feedback.
