FTAN PRESIDENT FELICITATES IBOM AIR ON INAUGURAL FLIGHT TO ACCRA, GHANA

The Honourary Special Adviser to Akwa Ibom State Governor on Tourism and President of the Federation of Tourism Associations in Nigeria (FTAN) Mr Nkereuwem Onung  was among dignitaries and passengers who flew the first ever Ibom Air flight to Accra on Tuesday, October 17,2023 alongside the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Sir Charles Udoh. Others were the popular Nollywood actress Ini Edo, the Chief Operational Officer of Ibom Air, Mr George Uresi, and Mr Ikechi Uko, an international tourism expert.
As the tourism industry in Akwa Ibom State received a significant boost with the inaugural flight to Accra which opens another channel for promoting tourism and to showcase the beauty and appeal of the various tourist destinations in Akwa Ibom State, the presence of these personalities highlights the importance of this new channel and its potential impact on the tourism sector. 
The development of this new tourism channel is a step forward in positioning Akwa Ibom State as a preferred tourist destination in the West African region. It is also a testament to the government's commitment to promoting tourism and harnessing its economic potentials as stated in the Arise Agenda of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, by showcasing the unique offerings of the state, more opportunities for investment and job creation will be on the rise, benefitting both the local community and the wider economy.
