PRESIDENT LAUDS SOUTH WEST FTAN FOR SUCCESSFUL ODUAFEST 2024.

Mr. Nkereuwem Onung, the President of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria, FTAN, has, in a recent release, expressed great pleasure and immense pride in the success of the just concluded inaugural edition of the South West Regional Tourism Invest Forum in Nigeria, tagged ODUAFEST OSUN 2024.

The President extended his heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Osun State, and the good people of Osun State for being the first South West States to host the groundbreaking event. He acknowledged that the State’s hospitality, vision, and commitment had set a remarkable precedent for what promised to be a transformative journey for the regional tourism industry.

Mr. Nkereuwem highlighted that the South West region of Nigeria is blessed with a rich tapestry of culture, history, and natural beauty. 

“The South West region holds an abundance of opportunities for tourism investment and development and I am optimistic that the experiences and exchanges gained at the event will serve as a unique platform for the participants to go back to their various States and forge partnerships that will drive sustainable growth and innovation in the tourism sector in the region,” he said.

He remarked that tourism is more than an economic activity; it is a bridge that connects people, fosters understanding, and enriches lives. He described it as a catalyst for sustainable development, creating opportunities and improving the quality of life for the people. He therefore called on other zones to emulate the South West zone and come up with activities that will stimulate growth and development in the industry. He expressed optimism that the forum has ignited new partnerships between the government and the private sector and will pave the way for transformative projects that would enhance the tourism landscape of the South West region.

Mr. Nkereuwem Onung congratulated and thanked the Executive Governor of Lagos State for stepping out to host the next edition of ODUAFEST LAGOS 2025.

He concluded by thanking the Vice President of FTAN South West Zone, Mr. Tunde Kolade, for believing in the event. He also thanked the Zonal and State Executives and other planning committee members for their sacrifices and support towards the event's success.
