FTAN 27th AGM: Stakeholders to address the Roles of Private Sectors in the Development of Tourism in Nigeria.
The Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria FTAN is set to hold it's 27th Annual General Meeting AGM in Abuja on the 30th of July, 2024 at Rockview Royale Hotel.
Speaking during a zoom meeting with the members of the planning Committee, the President of FTAN, Mr. Nkereuwem Onung confirmed that the necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure the successful hosting of the AGM.
FTAN is the Umbrella body that represents all the Private Sector in the Tourism Industry in Nigeria. He urged all the Member Associations of the Federation to participate fully in the event that it will be another opportunity to learn, network and deliberate on issues affecting various Associations and the Industry. He added that top Government Officials, and private operators in tourism related business are also expected to attend.
The Theme of this year AGM is: The Role of a Private Sector in the Development of Tourism in Nigeria.
The 1st Deputy President of FTAN who is also the Chairman Planning Committee Alhaji Aliyu Badaki had earlier in a zoom meeting with Journalists explained that the theme was carefully chosen based on the happenings in the sector and the Country as a whole.
The Chairman also stated that the theme is in accordance with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Ahmed Tinubu in the area of Tourism.
Those expected to grace the Occasion include: Keynote Speaker, Former Minister of Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism who is currently the Botswana Ambassador to Nigeria Her Excellency Philda Nani Kereng, President Tourism Federation, Benin Republic, Monsr. Bouraima Mouinou Dine, the host, Minister of Tourism Lola Ade-John, Minister of Culture Hannatu Musa Musawa, Minister of Sports John Owan Enoh, Director General of NTDA, Otunba Folorunsho Coker, Director General of NIHOTOUR, Alhaji Nura Kangiwa, Director General, SON, Dr Ifeanyi Okeke, Ecowas Commissioner of Tourism , Members Board of Trustees, FTAN, and other key Stakeholders.
The AGM will also feature educative panel session, the panelists comprise technocrats from the Tourism sector and Government Agencies.
